The Times Roman typeface was devloped specifically for the Times newspaper back in 1931. It was developed by Monotype designers Stanly Morison and Victor Lardent.
Although the Times no longer uses the original version the typeface is still widely used throughout the world. The type is a Serif font meaning hey have strokes at the end of each character.
